Privacy Policy

ko-learn is a private booking portal used by one tutor and their existing students. It is not a public service, it carries no advertising, and it sells nothing to anyone.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name and email address, which the tutor enters when inviting you, and the sign-in credentials you create.
- Your lessons. Bookings, lesson times, subject, lesson length, your timezone, agreed rate, and any notes or materials the tutor attaches to a lesson.
- Payment records. Whether a lesson was paid, when, and by which method. We never see or store your card details — card payments happen entirely on Stripe’s own checkout page.
What we don’t collect
No tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics on your behaviour. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, and there is no circumstance in which we would.
Who processes it
A small number of services do specific jobs. Each holds only what that job needs.
- Clerk — sign-in and account security.
- Stripe — card payments and receipts.
- Neon and Vercel — the database and hosting the site runs on.
- Google Calendar — lesson events on the tutor’s calendar. If you accept a calendar invitation for a lesson, that event appears in your own calendar. You never connect a Google account to ko-learn, and ko-learn cannot read your calendar.
How long it is kept
Your account and lesson history are kept while you are a student, and for as long afterwards as the tutor needs them for their own records — payment history, for instance, has to outlive the lessons it covers. Ask and we will delete what is not required for that.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for corrections, or ask for your account to be closed. Email hello@ko-learn.com and a person — your tutor — will answer.
Children
Where a student is under 18, the account is arranged with a parent or guardian, and that adult may exercise every choice above on the student’s behalf.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date above changes and you will be told directly rather than left to notice it.
